Cooper-Young held a kick-off event for The Smallest User competition at First Congregational Church on January 27, 2010. Sutton Mora-Hayes of the Cooper Young Development Corporation and Tom Chamberlain of MLGW met with a small but excited group of residents to spread the energy-saving word.

Scott Little, an energy adviser for Conservation Services Group, told homeowners about ways to make their homes more energy efficient and public programs that offer rebates for energy efficient renovations. Read the full story from The Commercial Appeal here.

Debbie Sowell, board member of CYCA and Cooper-Young's Smallest User ambassador, shows us a few things about energy-saving.

Debbie shows us just how important it is to change your air filters by showing a dirty one on the left and a clean one on the right. Make sure to change your filters at least once every 2 months.

Here Debbie shows us one of the easiest and cheapest ways to maximize your energy savings. Caulking reduces the amount of heat that seeps into your home and keeps your air conditioning from escaping. Click on the picture above to learn how.
